Every year in July Montalcino's lovely theater called teatro degli Astrusi is home to a classical music festival, that brings the soloists of Amsterdam's famous Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra to town.
In its 6th year the festival takes place from the 12th to the 18th of July 2012. From Thursday to Sunday the world class musicians will play in various chamber music formations. The pianists Ronald Brautigam and Eildert Beeftink will be this year's guest artists at the festival.

Shostakovich - Piano quintet in G minor op. 57
Teatro degli Astrusi, Piazza Garibaldi Montalcino. Concerts start at 7pm. Tickets can be bought all week at Montalcino's tourist office or directly at the theater every day from 5.30pm.
At 6.15pm a glass of wine is served (included in the price). Buffet dinner together with the musicians after the concert can be booked beforehand.
Ticket price: 25€ and 20€ (reduced rate for Montalcino residents, students and children). The seated buffet dinnner with the musicians takes place after 9pm at the Bar Leccio below the theater. You have to book the dinner two days in advance (+39 347 18 07 408). Dinner costs 30€.

On Wednesday 18th of July the closing concert of the festival takes places at the Villa di Geggiano near Siena.
